Garrett Allawatt

Hello, My name is Garrett Allawatt and I am currently a PhD student at the university of Washington in Mechanical Engineering. I currently hold a Bachelors and Masters degree from the University in Mechanical Engineering along with minors in chemistry and mathematics. I have served as a tutor in mathematics, physics, and chemistry at the University of Washington. I am very passionate about teaching others what I know. Throughout my academic career, I have followed my favorite high school teacher's motto:

"You don't take my class for the grade, you take my class for the knowledge. With the knowledge comes the grade." I believe a good tutor enhances the students understanding of the material, not their ability to memorize and regurgitate information on a test. During my tutoring sessions I will prepare the student not only to succeed in their current classes, but I will also help prepare them for what is to come.

I can help with all levels of Mathematics going up to the highest levels in college, including but not limited to:

  • Differential equations
  • Partial differential equations
  • Numerical techniques
  • Statistics
  • Multivariable & vector calculus
  • Linear algebra
  • Differential equations
  • Fourier series
I can also assist with physics, inorganic and organic chemistry, and I'm proficient in intermediate English as well.
